Remington Mortgage

Remington Mortgage

In 1992 the foundation for what is now Remington Mortgage was created and operated under the name of Momentum Mortgage.  Momentum Mortgage was a pioneer of technology and marketing relationships in the Houston mortgage marketplace.  After experiencing dynamic growth and expanding the scope of coverage to a national focus, a decision was made to refocus the business inside the state of Texas – with the emphasis being on the Houston area market. The company was reorganized as First Texas Residential Mortgage Company in 1996, dedicated to customer service and focusing on the Houston marketplace. In April 2005, Tom Boyd bought out his partner and began an effort to increase the company’s market share.  Utilizing over 14+ years of mortgage experience, Tom began setting a new standard in the mortgage industry that other companies would soon begin attempting to emulate.

In 2005, First Texas Residential entered into an ABA agreement with Remington Mortgage of Plano to open up a mortgage banking arm of the company.  This would bring nearly 20 years of FHA lending experience immediately to our disposal.  The relationship developed so well that in 2007 Remington Mortgage and First Texas Residential agreed to merge to form one company in order to better serve clients and streamline costs.  We are now a full service mortgage banking firm offering a wide range of competitive conventional, FHA, and VA mortgage products, while maintaining mortgage broker options for our clients with special lending needs.

The Remington Mortgage team is our real strength.  With highly experienced loan officers, processors, and support staff, we are dedicated to providing the very finest in customer service for you and your clients.  By utilizing the latest technology to streamline the mortgage process and by removing many of the barriers that once caused that process take weeks, we are now able to process, approve, close, and fund a loan in a very short timeframe – sometimes in a matter of hours instead of days or weeks.
